About Blanchard's Cricket Frog:
The main thing about these frogs is that they are tiny! They are a subspecies of the Northern Cricket Frog (Acris crepitans). In Texas, after a hard rain (and all rain in Texas seems to be hard rain), they were every where on the roads and sidewalks. They eat small insects. They are eaten by birds, fish, and larger frogs. They can jump three feet! Northern cricket frogs breed from April to May.

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata (having a spinal chord)
Class: Amphibia
Order: Anura (frogs and toads)
Family: Hylidae (tree frogs)
Genus: Acris
Species: A. crepitans
