About spring peepers:
Spring peepers are also referred to as Hyla crucifer. They are a small (up to 1 1/2 inch long) tree frog found in the eastern and midwestern U.S. The breeding period is from March to June. They eat insects. Although they have toepads and are good climbers, they stay mostly on the ground.
