About Cattail:
Cattails, or cat-tails, are aquatic and wetland plants and grow to about ten feet tall. Red-winged blackbirds build nests on cattails. Muskrats also use them to build their houses. Cattails flower in the summer. In the fall the flower heads open to show the fluffy downy material that surrounds the seeds, which are spread by wind. Cattails are native to the United States. Cattail down was used by Native Americans to line moccasins and papoose boards.
