More about mosquito larva:

The larval stage is one of four in the mosquito life cycle. The other three are egg, pupa, and adult. This describes what is referred to as complete metamorphosis. The larval stage is the second stage, after the egg hatches. They are also called wigglers or wrigglers for their wiggling motion. Mosquitoes are in this stage for one to two weeks.
