Start your drawing with the general outline of the largest shape.

Sketch in the secondary shapes and see how they relate to other shapes, such as how the eye socket aligns with the other eye.

Drawing the eye and the highlight of the light reflecting off of the eye helps to make the frog begin to look alive at an early stage in the drawing.

Begin to put in the shadows where the light isn't reaching.
